Seeking to punish critics for communicating the truth about Israel to the world, Israel has barred an American scholar from entering the country and a Palestinian journalist from leaving the occupied territories for a brief trip to Germany.

Israel’s chief domestic intelligence agency, or Shin Beth, as it is known by its Hebrew acronym, has detained and deported Professor Norman Finkelstein, a prominent American Jewish historian and intellectual.

Finkelstein is a well-known critic of the apartheid Israeli state, especially its 41-year-old Nazi-like occupation of East Jerusalem, West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.

He is also the author of a famous book titled "the Holocaust Industry," in which he accused Israel and allied Zionist circles of using the memory of holocaust victims for political ends.

Finkelstein arrived at the Ben Gurion Airport Friday, 23 May, for a visit to friends in the city of Hebron, where nearly 200,000 Palestinian citizens are effectively held hostage to the whims and moods of a few hundred fanatical Jewish settlers who believe that non-Jews in Israel/Palestine ought to be treated as water carriers and wood hewers, or expelled and/or exterminated.

However, upon his arrival at the airport, the 55-year-old professor was unceremoniously whisked away to a nearby Shin Beth office where he was interrogated for several hours on his views.

Shortly before he was put on a plane back to Amsterdam, his point of departure, the Jewish historian was told that he wouldn’t be able to visit Israel for ten years.                                  More...............

Florida was the central networking base and staging area for the "false flag" terror attacks of 9-11.  Fifteen of the nineteen Arabs allegedly involved in the hijackings, for example, lived and had their base of operations in South Florida.

"False flag" means a crime which is designed to be blamed on others in order to achieve a strategic and political goal for the real perpetrator of the crime.  To understand how this strategy is used in false flag terror operations I recommend reading The Little Drummer Girl by John Le Carré and watching the movie by George Roy Hill.  Victor Ostrovsky's books about the Mossad are also recommended reading.

The Little Drummer Girl was written with input and advice from many Mossadniks, including a former head of Israeli military intelligence.  Most of the book deals with the way Mossad creates a completely false history for a Palestinian "terrorist" by leaving a trail of traces across Europe.

This false history is exactly what was created in Florida, albeit on a much larger scale, with the 15 Arabs "hijackers" whose identities were used to create a false history for them prior to the attacks of 9-11. There are, however, obvious flaws in this history, which will be taken up later. 

That a false history was being laid was quite clear from published reports:  "At least six of the suspected terrorists had two sets of driver's licenses issued by Florida, which would have allowed two or more people to use the same identity," the Sun-Sentinel (Florida) reported on September 28, 2001.

"Many of the suspected terrorists, it is becoming increasingly clear, swapped identities as part of their preparations for the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, according to a Sun-Sentinel review of documents, interviews and published reports."

But why, and by whom, were the "hijackers" identities being swapped?  Were these Arab suspects even aware that their identities were being used by others?                                                                               More.....................

Wars in an imperialist democracy cannot simply be dictated by executive fiat, they require the consent of highly motivated masses who will make the human and material sacrifices.  Imperialist leaders have to create a visible and highly charged emotional sense of injustice and righteousness to secure national cohesion and overcome the natural opposition to early death, destruction and disruption of civilian life and to the brutal regimentation that goes with submission to absolutist rule by the military.

The need to invent a cause is especially the case with imperialist countries because their national territory is not under threat.  There is no visible occupation army oppressing the mass of the people in their everyday life.  The ‘enemy’ does not disrupt everyday normal life – as forced conscription would and does.  Under normal peaceful time, who would be willing to sacrifice their constitutional rights and their participation in civil society to subject themselves to martial rule that precludes the exercise of all their civil freedoms?

The task of imperial rulers is to fabricate a world in which the enemy to be attacked (an emerging imperial power like Japan) is portrayed as an ‘invader’ or an ‘aggressor’ in the case of revolutionary movements (Korean and Indo-Chinese communists) engaged in a civil war against an imperial client ruler or a ‘terrorist conspiracy’ linked to an anti-imperialist, anti-colonial Islamic movements and secular states.  Imperialist-democracies in the past did not need to consult or secure mass support for their expansionist wars; they relied on volunteer armies, mercenaries and colonial subjects led and directed by colonial officers.  Only with the confluence of imperialism, electoral politics and total war did the need arise to secure not only consent, but also enthusiasm, to facilitate mass recruitment and obligatory conscription.

Since all US imperial wars are fought ‘overseas’ – far from any immediate threats, attacks or invasions - -US imperial rulers have the special task of making the ‘causus bellicus’ immediate, ‘dramatic’ and self-righteously ‘defensive’.

To this end US Presidents have created circumstances, fabricated incidents and acted in complicity with their enemies, to incite the bellicose temperament of the masses in favor of war.

The pretext for wars are acts of provocation which set in motion a series of counter-moves by the enemy, which are then used to justify an imperial mass military mobilization leading to and legitimizing war.

وبينما أشارت مصادر "مطلعة"، أن الأمريكي يعمل مستشارا في الظل لحكومة الجنوب، بينما نفت الحركة الشعبية نفيا قاطعا هذه الاتهامات، وقالت إن هذا الأخير مجرد صديق للحركة الشعبية وأنه يعمل مستشارا متطوعا لديها، وأن الحركة تستعين به لتحسين علاقات الخرطوم مع واشنطن!!

يعتبر السودان الآن مسرحا للعديد من الصراعات الداخلية والإقليمية. ومصدرها واحد بحسب بعض المحللين الأجانب: الاستيلاء على مقاليد الدولة من قبل دائرة مصغرة في السلطة وتهميش باقي المناطق والفئات والمجموعات السكانية والطائفية والإثنية عن "قصد". قد يكون هذا التحليل سطحيا إلى حد بعيد، خاصة إذا أخذنا بعين الاعتبار التعقيدات التي تحيط بالسودان جغرافيا سياسيا واستراتيجيا واقتصاديا.. ثروات هائلة، مخزون طاقوي ضخم، ثروات باطنية لا تقدر، أراضي زراعية واسعة، أعداد كبيرة جدا من المواشي (إبل، جواميس، أبقار وأغنام).

* المدخل إلى الأزمات السودانية:

دارفور يعني بلد الأفران، وهي مجموعة أثنية من المزارعين السود الذين يعيشون في جبل مرة. وهي كبيرة خمسة أضعاف مساحة فرنسا، ومنقسمة إلى ثلاث ولايات: شمال دارفور وجنوبه وغربه. وإذا كان الشمال والصحراء الشرقية والوسطى والجنوبية تشمل المناطق الأكثر هطولا للأمطار، لكن هناك أيضا مساحات شاسعة من الأراضي الجافة.

المقاطعة يسكنها قبائل عديدة من "العرب" و"الأفارقة السود"، غير أن التمييز بين هاتين المجموعتين، هو أكثر صعوبة مما يبدو: "الأجنبي سيكون من الصعب عليه التمييز بين الدارفوري العربي والإفريقي، وهذا يبين إلى حد ما أن الإشكالية القائمة في دارفور هي إشكالية ثقافية أكثر منها عرقية (هذا ما استخلصته مجموعة الأزمات الدولية وأقرته).

* حرب أهلية طويلة لا نهاية لها!

منذ عام 1983م، والحرب الأهلية تمزق البلاد. وإذا أردنا أن نوجز الصراع في هذه الجمل الصغيرة، فيمكن القول:

ـ اشتباكات دائمة بين الشمال (حيث يقطنها عدد من السكان العرب المسلمين من السنة) والجنوب (حيث يقطنها سكان سود من الإحيائيين والمسيحيين).

Justice Department's Revelations on Torture

It has long been an accepted fact of life that the U.S. not only condones but also practices the torture of political prisoners. While President George Bush, Cabinet members and members of Congress decry the human rights violations of other nations, they are not nearly so critical of those violations when perpetrated under their orders.

When pictures of Iraqi prisoners being tortured by smiling U.S. soldiers at Abu Gharib first became public in 2004, the world was outraged. Mr. Bush proclaimed that such situations were an aberration, the willful violation of U.S. policy by a few rogue soldiers. Some of those soldiers were arrested, tried and convicted while their ‘superiors’ shook their heads and went on their merry way. While the controversy surrounding the apparently fairly common use of waterboarding, a technique of torture dating back at least to the Spanish Inquisition and outlawed by U.S. law and the Geneva Conventions, kept rearing its ugly head, Mr. Bush steadfastly stated “This government does not torture people.”

Yet the world learned that ‘this government’ does indeed utilize ‘harsh interrogation techniques,’ techniques that the civilized world defines as torture. And now Mr. Bush’s empty words are exposed for the lies that they are: the Justice Department (one of the U.S.’s many oxymora) itself has disclosed this fact. A forthcoming Justice Department report states that hundreds of agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reported to that department ‘interrogation techniques’ that they felt were in violation of U.S. law and the Geneva Conventions. The report further states that, when the FBI agents reported these horrendous violations of  basic human rights, they were told not to participate in them, apparently because they violated FBI regulations, but nothing was done to stop them. Those FBI witnesses also stated that torture is ineffective in procuring any valuable information, a direct contradiction of Mr. Bush’s repeated statements about the benefits of ‘harsh interrogation techniques.’                                                   More................

We have often noted here the special role that New York Times reporter Michael Gordon plays in the national media. For years, he has served as a key conduit for government propaganda aimed at fomenting military aggression, then justifying it once it has begun. In many ways, he has probably been a far more effective tool of the militarists than the Fox News network.

The latter, of course, pumps the toxic, bloodstained sewage of Bush Regime spin directly into the public discourse 24 hours a day. But Fox is a very crude instrument. The network makes almost no attempt to hide its direct relationship with the warmongers, as demonstrated by its recent hiring of "news analyst" Karl Rove – who, though supposedly retired from politics, is of course still a principal adviser of both the White House and the McCain campaign. Fox preaches largely to the converted, and although it plays a vital role in keeping the faithful roused to fury, its partisan extremism tempers its credibility with the great and the good, the "serious" Establishment players.

The New York Times, on the other hand, is widely regarded as the nation's leading newspaper: somber, serious, independent. It is also seen as a bastion of "liberal" journalism, forever skeptical of government – especially a government run by Republicans. Thus a dollop of militarist propaganda in its pages has a much broader and deeper impact than whole truckloads of bile on Fox. "Wow, the New York Times says Saddam has WMD – and they hate Bush, so it can't be White House spin!" "Look at this: the New York Times says Iran is killing Americans in Iraq – and those liberals wouldn't publish anything that agreed with Bush unless it was really true." And because innumerable media venues throughout the country take their lead from the Times, a well-planted piece of "credible" spin appearing there immediately becomes "conventional wisdom" on the subject.                More.............

George W. Bush is well known for his low intellectuality and clarion ignorance of the world. To mask these serious flaws and shortcomings, he routinely adopts a discourse based on mendacity and dishonesty.

And while it is premature to pass a final judgment on the man, it is probably safe to conclude by now that he has already brought an irremediable disaster upon the United States and the rest of the world.

A few years ago, the ruthless ignoramus of the White House invaded, occupied and destroyed two sovereign countries, and killed or caused the death of over a million innocent people, all under the flimsy pretexts of fighting terror.

Bush even had the temerity to claim that “God told me to do it.”

Last week, human decency was once again affronted by Bush’s diatribe at the Israeli parliament, the Knesset. There he bestowed all the epithets of glory upon a state that practices mass murder, ethnic cleansing and land theft, a state whose very existence was, is and will always be a colossal crime against humanity.

While contemptuously ignoring the Palestinian Nakba, the catastrophe of an innocent people that had to be cruelly uprooted from its ancestral homeland in order to compensate Ashkenazi Jews for the holocaust, George Bush heaped lavish praise on Israel, a state run by an essentially criminal elite of warmongers and war criminals ever since its violent birth sixty years ago.

Bush began his ranting by pointing out how the “Jewish people endured the agony of the pogroms, the tragedy of the Great War, and the horrors of the Holocaust,” as if Jewish victimhood, however genuine it may be, gave Zionism the right to commit genocide and ethnic cleaning against another people.

Bush quoted what Elie Wiesel called “the Kingdom of the night” where “soulless men took away lives and broke apart families, adding, “yet they couldn’t take away the spirit of the Jewish people, and they could not break the promise of God.”

But he utterly ignored Zionism’s own kingdom of darkness, where callous-hearted criminals, bearing Jewish names but having Nazi hearts and minds, took away lives and have broken families, who notwithstanding their evils, wouldn’t be able to take away the spirit of the Palestinian people, nor break the promise of God.

Wiesel, the sanctimonious American Zionist paragon of hypocrisy and moral duplicity has little moral authority to lecture the world on the evils of Nazism. A man who says and boasts openly that he identifies himself with Israeli crimes and that he couldn’t bring himself to criticize Israel irrespective of her murderous actions, is obviously unqualified for any moral exemplification.

Bush spoke of Israel’s “thriving democracy,” but evaded the fact that apartheid and democracy can’t coexist.

For decades, Zionists and Israelis sold to the world the myth that Palestine was a "land without a people for a people without a land."  The truth was far from that.  In Palestine lived a thriving society which was far different from the Palestinians you see today who have been dispossessed of all their properties by the Jews.  Palestine was also a green productive agricultural land full of rivers.  It was far from being the desert Jews claim having miraculously turned into 'paradise'.  The famous "Israeli" Jaffa oranges that are sold all over the world today, existed in fact long before Israel ever appeared on the map of the world and they were the orange of  Yafa which is the Arabic name for Jaffa.  Some of my Palestinian friends still have their paperwork and documentation that proves their ownership of the Yafa oranges land, but since when was Israel ever held accountable in front of a court of law when it comes to stealing lands and properties.  My friends who are the real owners of the Yafa oranges are Christian Palestinians, not Muslims... because Israel looted Christian Palestinians and hunted them away just as it did/does with the Muslims.

When the decision was taken to give Palestine to the Jews, Western powers were complicit in hiding the fact that Palestine was a country that was populated with Palestinians.  It was far from being "a land without a people".

This is what Gold Meir said in a statement to The Sunday Times on June 15th, 1969:

"There is no such thing as a Palestinian people... It is not as if we came and threw them out and took their country. They didn't exist."         More..................

May 18, 2008 Today was not a good day for me. This afternoon, I went to a hamburger restaurant and saw that the majority of cars in the parking lot had pro-war bumper stickers proudly displayed. They included statements such as, "I Support the Troops" and "Freedom Isn’t Free." Almost all had the proclamation, "God Bless America." Things got worse in the restaurant. At least six pre-teenage boys wore military camouflage clothing. Then, three women in their early 20s entered. They wore military camouflage shorts. Two adult males, who looked like dime-store mercenaries, displayed military camouflage t-shirts that overlapped their huge stomachs. Most of these people will watch the San Diego Padres baseball club on TV tomorrow as they play the Seattle Mariners in Seattle. At the beginning of the seventh inning, the song "God Bless America" will be played at the stadium. Most San Diegans will stop drinking their Coors beer and will stand in honor of God and country. Only for a couple of minutes though. That’s about how long they can go without swilling down their watered-down beer that they consider the world’s best. When I got home, things deteriorated further. My Iraqi-American friend Wameeth came by and gave me an insert from a weekly events magazine. I looked at it, mimicked using it as a piece of toilet paper, and as I was about to throw it in the trash, I stopped. "What a subject for an article," I thought.
